About The Spurious Lawyer

Hey everyone, welcome to The Spurious Lawyer. I am not really lawyer, hence the name “spurious” which means fake or make believe. I’m just interested in the law, the terminology and am using this blog to learn more about “lawyering”. I have a friend who is a lawyer. He actually works outside the country and always gripes that there are too many lawyers.

Come to think of it, I’ve got another family member who is a lawyer as well. Where I worked I used to hang out with a guy who was a lawyer who went on to write mystery novels which I thought was a pretty cool thing. My wife at one point, took the LSAT when she was thinking about becoming a lawyer but never pursued it any farther than that.

I live in Indianapolis and here is a picture of the skyline:

I am an avid Colts fan and Pacers as well although my faith in the NBA dwindled after the notorious four point play against the Knicks. But I digress.

I’ve got a family that includes a cat but no dog and thought that it would be cool to have a beagle be the mascot of this blog because of the legal beagle play on words.
